Description

This is a delicious milk shake with layers of flavors and textures! Lets make Strawberry and Mango Falooda!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Soak one tablespoon of basil seeds or sabja seeds in 1-2 cups of water. Set that aside to bloom
  2. Soak one tablespoon of basil seeds or sabja seeds in 1-2 cups of water. Set that aside to bloom
  3. Break some falooda sev in 1 inch pieces, place that in a pan and add some water to it. Boil the water for 2-3 minutes and strain it
  4. Once you strained it you can put it in a bowl of cold water so that they don’t clump together
  5. I’m using nice tall glasses to make my falooda so that I can see all the layers and drink more! lol!
  6. For the strawberry falooda let’s start with a base layer of rose syrup. 3 to 4 tablespoons should be good enough. I find that the taste of rose syrup and strawberry complement each other beautifully
  7. For the mango falooda we are going to use a base layer of fresh mango puree. What can be better right!
  8. Next a layer of fresh strawberry and mango respectively
  9. Next, add a layer of soaked basil seeds or sabja seeds
  10. I love to top up the basil seeds with some honey. Not only does it make the basil seeds nice and sweet, if the honey is thick enough it makes small little jelly-like particles in the drink!
  11. Next let’s add in the falooda sev. These are like thin noodles that are made of cornstarch and they add a delicate texture to the drink.
  12. Let’s top it with another layer of fresh fruit. (If you coat strawberry pieces with sugar and let them sit for 10 to 15 minutes they become juicy and delicious)
  13. Cover the fruits up with another layer of rose syrup and fresh mango puree
  14. Next comes a bolder texture with mixed nuts. I’m using almonds pistachios and cashew nuts. Make sure to chopped them roughly. Not only is that healthy it obviously adds a lot of taste
  15. Another layer of sabja seeds and then top up with some chilled full fat or whole milk
  16. Finally, top with as much vanilla ice cream as you like!

Notes

  • Not only is this milkshake refreshing it can also be a meal by itself!
  • You can also substitute basil or sabja seeds with chia seeds if you wish
