Instructions

    Prepping the noodles

  1. Add dry hakka noodles slabs to a pot of boiling water
  2. Make sure that the noodles are totally submerged in the water
  3. Boil till the noodles are approximately 90% done
  4. This should take around three minutes (or follow the instructions by the manufacturer)
  5. Drain the noodles, Pour around 2 tablespoons of oil and toss it thoroughly
  6. This will prevent the noodles from sticking to each other. Keep it aside
  7. Sauce mix for the noodles

  8. In a bowl add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, 2 tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of red chili sauce, 1/4 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of corn starch and mix it thoroughly. Keep it aside
  9. Set a pan on high heat and add around 3 tablespoons of oil
  10. Add onions and fry till they turn translucent
  11. Add garlic and stir fry till the garlic browns slightly
  12. Add carrots and stir for one minute
  13. Add green beans and stir for one minute
  14. Add bell pepper and cabbage and stir for 10 seconds
  15. Add the sauce mix and stir for one minute You will see that the sauce thickens.
  16. Add red chili flakes and black pepper powder
  17. Add in the pre-boiled noodles little by little and stir well to ensure that the sauce thoroughly coats it
  18. Stir fry on high heat for 3 to 5 minutes for a smoky flavor
  19. Turn off the heat and add spring onion greens for garnish
  20. Add more chilli flakes if you prefer it hot!
