Description

Jeera Aloo is a popular North Indian Potato curry. The potatoes are spiced with lots of cumin seeds and other aromatic spices. It is a quick, simple and delicious curry that especially pairs well with dal fry and rice/roti.

Instructions

  1. Set a pan on medium heat and add 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  2. Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, hing, and chopped green chilies
  3. Once the cumin seeds start to splatter and gets darker brown in color, add boiled potatoes cut in thin long slices
  4. Stir fry the potatoes for approximately 7 to 10 minutes or until they brown nicely
  5. Add amchur powder and give it a quick stir
  6. Turn off the heat and garnish with lots of chopped coriander leaves

Notes

  • This stays best with Paratha or dal fry, rice or roti
