Who doesn’t like quick, easy, yet healthy and delicious breakfast recipes right?! Oats and Chia seeds are not only healthy, they are great for weight loss too! Here I share an amazingly easy oat meal recipe! Soak oats and chia seeds in milk overnight and your breakfast is ready in the morning! No cooking required! I have also shared ideas for 8 super easy and delicious toppings you can add! Overnight oats is so easily customizable that your kids won’t be bored eating it everyday!
Ingredients
Instructions
- Add two cups of rolled oats in a big bowl. You can use instant oats too!
- Add two tablespoons of chia seeds and to make it even healthier add half a cup of mixed nuts (just add in whatever nuts you have)
- Next, add two cups of milk. You can substitute this with dairy-free milk, like almond milk, pea milk etc. You can also use thin yogurt if you like, or water too! I’m not sure how that’s going to taste but it should work!
- Let this soak in the fridge overnight! (therefore called overnight oats)
- Next morning, the oats should be nice and soft! Adjust to your desired consistency with more milk or more yogurt or more water!
- Sweeten it with honey or whatever sweetener you like!
- Add half a teaspoon of salt to balance out the sweetness
- Now i’m going to divide this into 8 cups for 8 different flavors! The flavors are simple yet delicious, I hope you like it 🙂
- All you need is two teaspoons of fresh mango puree. Mix that in and garnish with fresh mango!
- Add one teaspoon of rose syrup, mix well and garnish with strawberry
- Add half a teaspoon of vanilla essence, add mashed banana pieces, mix well and top with more
banana pieces! - Add 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and some apple pieces mix well and top with more apple pieces!
- Add whatever fruits you have! Chop it up add it in
- Mix some nutella in and top with some chocolate pieces!
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder, some chopped dates and mix that in. Top with some more chopped dates! (this flavor is very much like indian sweets it’s really nice!)
- This one for my coffee lovers! Add a little bit instant coffee in some hot water, mix well and add that into the oats. but not sure if you like the flavors of honey and coffee together, so you may want to substitute the sweetener here. Sprinkle some chocolate morsels!

Notes
- My kids eat this breakfast almost every single day and you know why they don’t get bored because you can really switch up the flavors and keep it interesting. It’s healthy, they love it and that makes me a happy mommy! While I do my dishes every night I just soak some oats really quickly and next morning breakfast is ready!
- Some quick tips for you: if you’re using old-fashioned rolled oats let it rest overnight. If you’re using instant oats a few hours of soaking should be enough to make it soft. If you’re using steel cut oats i’m not sure it’s going to get really soft so i wouldn’t recommend using that but i may be wrong, so if you tried it and it worked let me know!
