    Recipe for Basil Pesto

  1. Add the following to a grinder jar
  2. Basil leaves, roasted mixed nuts, garlic cloves, pepper powder, half a teaspoon of salt, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of Parmesan cheese powder, 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
  3. Grind this till it reaches a slightly coarse texture
  4. Cooking the pasta (I used macaroni here)

  5. Add 2 teaspoons of salt to a pot of boiling water and bring it to a boil
  6. Add the pasta
  7. Boil the pasta for approximately seven minutes till it is 90% done (al dente)
  8. Take out some of the pasta water in a bowl
  9. In a pan add the rest of the olive oil and put in a cup of cherry tomatoes
  10. Let them sweat a little
  11. Sprinkle some salt on the tomatoes
  12. Add the pasta in
  13. Add approximately 2 tablespoons of the pasta water
  14. Give it a quick stir
  15. Turn off the heat and add the pesto
  16. Finish by add the rest of the parmesan cheese powder
