- Give it a good mix
- Next, add in ~2 tbsp of milk. The milk and vinegar combines to form buttermilk and helps tenderize the chicken
- Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes
- Add salt to taste
- Beat one egg and add it in
- Coat chicken pieces with the egg
- Add 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour and coat everything well
- Add 1 tbsp. of any neutral cooking oil and mix everything well
- I am using 1.5 cups of plain breadcrumbs Add 1/4 tsp. of powdered black pepper
- Add 1/2 tsp. of salt
- Add 1/4 tsp. of paprika powder
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder. Baking powder helps make the coating nice and crisp
- Make sure all the ingredients are mixed evenly
- Another important tip to make the breading nice and crisp, is to add oil to the breadcrumbs
- Add ~2 tbsp. of oil.
- Make sure to mix the oil with the breadcrumbs really well!
- Use a sheet pan with a wire rack on it.If you don’t have a wire rack, you can line the pan with parchment paper
- Make sure to oil the wire rack so that the pieces don’t stick to it. If you aren’t using a wire rack, make sure that you turn the chicken pieces once during baking so both sides cook evenly
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes till they turn golden brown and crisp
